Age Guidelines
Satya Seva Society is primarily a community for young adults aged 18–35.
You must be 18 or over to attend in-person events
Anyone under 18 is welcome to take part in online discussions, meetings, and digital events only
These guidelines help maintain a safe, comfortable, and relatable environment while allowing long-term friendships and community to grow naturally over time.
Respect Everyone
No insults, discrimination, or disrespect towards any culture, religion, background, gender, sexuality, or identity. Differences are welcomed, disrespect is not.
No Harassment (Sexual or Otherwise)
People may connect naturally but no pressure, no chasing, and no repeated unwanted messages. Any form of sexual harassment, intimidation, or uncomfortable behaviour is not tolerated. If someone is not interested, respect it and move on.
Safe Socialising
Be mindful of personal boundaries. Do not single out or isolate individuals. Look out for one another, especially at in-person events. If you see someone uncomfortable, check in or alert a committee member
Keep Conversations Positive & Welcoming
Supportive energy only. No drama, bullying, or toxic behaviour. This is a space for growth, not negativity.
Healthy Debate Is Welcome, Disrespect Is Not
Open discussion is encouraged, including different beliefs or viewpoints (including LGBTQ+, political topics & etc), as long as it remains respectful and open-minded. No personal attacks, forcing beliefs, or inflammatory language.
No Inappropriate Content
No explicit material, sexual jokes, offensive humour, or content that disrespects any religion, culture, or community.
Keep Messages Relevant
Society events, culture, spirituality, wellbeing, seva, and friendly social conversation are welcome. No spam, chain messages, excessive forwards, or unrelated content.
No Promotions or Self-Promotion
No advertising businesses, side hustles, services, or personal projects unless approved by the admins.
Respect People’s Time
If a conversation becomes one-to-one, move it to DMs. Avoid flooding group chats, especially late at night.
Event Responsibility
If you sign up for an event, please attend. If you can’t make it, inform the admins in advance so the spot can be offered to someone else.
Alcohol Guidelines (Where Applicable)
At events where alcohol may be present:
Drinking is optional and never encouraged.
Excessive intoxication or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated. Respect members who choose not to drink
Privacy & Confidentiality
No screenshots, forwarding messages, or sharing private conversations outside the group without clear permission. Private conversations with committee members are treated with respect and confidentiality.
Conflict Resolution
Try to resolve it calmly and respectfully If needed, contact a committee member. Escalation or public arguments are discouraged. Committee members may step in to mediate where appropriate.
Handling Problematic Behaviour
Admins and committee members may:
Privately warn members. Temporarily mute members.
Remove members if behaviour repeatedly violates guidelines. These actions are taken to protect the community, not punish individuals.
Safety & Emergencies (Outdoor Events)
For outdoor activities or walks:
An emergency contact system may be used Members should follow organiser guidance.
Safety always takes priority over plans
These guidelines exist to protect the spirit of Satya Seva Society's community, respect, seva, and belonging.
